The Good and the Bad - The Dell Latitude E6510 Review

In our Dell Latitude E6510 review, we take a closer look at this interesting new laptop, as well as put it through some of the most resource intensive tests available to see if it delivers what the guys at Dell had promised. At first glance, the E6510 appears to be a modern and elegant laptop, with stylish lines and eye catching elements. However, in our experience, between good looks and performance there is no relation. People who are looking for a beautiful laptop can sincerely choose the Latitude E6510. However, we know that most of our readers are interested in its capabilities, versatility, power, and agility. This is why we put it through all our tests and put together this unbiased Dell Latitude E6510 review.

We started, like we like to, with 6510's main component, the central processing unit (otherwise commonly known as the CPU). After reading the technical specs, we were pleasantly surprised to find a potent and versatile Intel Core i5 processor. Well, at least on paper. Once we started testing it, we realized that it really delivers what the tech specs promise! The CPU managed to pass all our tests, even the multi threading ones without any notable problems. We can now say that this is a very potent and agile processor and are able to give it its well deserved 10 points out of a maximum of 10.

Next in our Dell Latitude E6510 review, we started testing the hard disk drive and memory. The HDD, a 250 GB unit is large enough to accommodate all our high definition media files and latest games, but leaves not much room for anything more. Its 7200 rotations per minute speed is great, taking into consideration the fact that most laptops these days come with 5400 rpm hard drives. As far as memory is concerned, the R6510 comes with just 2 GB of DDR3 random access memory (RAM). However, its high frequency of 1333 MHz makes up for the small size and the memory was able to pass all our tests without major problems. However, we are not able to give neither the RAM nor the memory more than 9 points out of 10.

As in any Dell Latitude E6510 review, we then tested the graphics processing unit (GPU) and found an average Intel HD Graphics video card. Its capability is below average, although higher than the last generation. It is able to output clear and bright HD graphics on the 15.6 inch display of the Dell Latitude E6510. This is why we give it 8 out of 10 points for trying.

After reading our Dell Latitude E6510 review, you will know what to expect from this notebook, as well as know its strong and weak points. Although we do recommend it as a good buy for its price/performance ratio, you are the one who makes the buy!
